From a toddler's first wobbles to the school run: the scooters that last.
A scooter is one of those presents that gets used every day, to the park, the shops and school. For under-fives, three wheels and lean-to-steer are the way to start; from about five, a two-wheeler that folds is the one that lasts.
Check the handlebar height range against the child (it should reach roughly waist height) and the rider weight limit if it's going to be handed down. And a helmet is a good idea from the first ride.
